From an anatomical perspective, the foot is an impressive feat (pun intended) of engineering with 100 ligaments, 33 joints, 26 bones, 19 muscles and untold numbers of nerve endings all working simultaneously for movement, flexibility and sensation. The feet's important function is to act as shock absorbers whilst walking and running. A bunion is simply an overgrowth of the bones making the big toe joint. Shop late in the day.

This "Toe Spreading" is a normal and necessary part of the foot mechanics, which is lost when one wears closed-toe-box shoes. Apply it with a cotton ball and make sure that the cotton ball doesn't slip from its position. Use a bandage or pad treated with salicylic acid to cover the corn. Keep it there for about 2 days so that the corn is dissolved. Take a freshly-cut piece of pineapple, equal to the size of the corn and place it overnight.
